Pepperoni Pizza Burger

Beef and pepperoni patties topped with melted mozzarella and pepperoni in buns with pizza sauce!

ingredients
  • 1 pound ground beef (or chicken or turkey)
  • 4 ounces pepperoni, thinly sliced
  • 1/4 cup onion, grated (or finely diced)
  • 4 cloves garlic, chopped or grated
  • 1 teaspoon oregano
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 cup mozzarella, shredded (or 4 slices)
  • 16 slices pepperoni
  • 4 buns (gluten-free for gluten-free)
  • 1 cup pizza sauce (link) (or marinara sauce (link))
directions
  1. Mix the ground beef, sliced pepperoni, onion, garlic, oregano, salt and pepper, and form 4 patties.
  2. Cook the patties by grilling, or pan frying, or broiling, until cooked through, about 3-5 minutes per side.
  3. Sprinkle the mozzarella on top of the patties, place the pepperoni on and continue to cook until the cheese has melted.
  4. Assemble the burgers with the buns, pizza sauce, and the cheese and pepperoni patties and enjoy!

Option: Use your favourite pizza toppings!
Note: In the photos I topped the pepperoni slices with a pinch of parmesan, oregano, and red pepper flakes!
