Pepperoni Pizza Burger

Beef and pepperoni patties topped with melted mozzarella and pepperoni in buns with pizza sauce!
ingredients
- 1 pound ground beef (or chicken or turkey)
- 4 ounces pepperoni, thinly sliced
- 1/4 cup onion, grated (or finely diced)
- 4 cloves garlic, chopped or grated
- 1 teaspoon oregano
- salt and pepper to taste
- 1 cup mozzarella, shredded (or 4 slices)
- 16 slices pepperoni
- 4 buns (gluten-free for gluten-free)
- 1 cup pizza sauce (link) (or marinara sauce (link))
directions
- Mix the ground beef, sliced pepperoni, onion, garlic, oregano, salt and pepper, and form 4 patties.
- Cook the patties by grilling, or pan frying, or broiling, until cooked through, about 3-5 minutes per side.
- Sprinkle the mozzarella on top of the patties, place the pepperoni on and continue to cook until the cheese has melted.
- Assemble the burgers with the buns, pizza sauce, and the cheese and pepperoni patties and enjoy!
Option: Use your favourite pizza toppings!
Note: In the photos I topped the pepperoni slices with a pinch of parmesan, oregano, and red pepper flakes!
